License
What you can build with a template, and what you can’t.
Last updated Oct 19, 2026
Every template comes with a license. You don’t buy the design itself: I keep the copyright, and you get the right to build websites with it. Free templates come with the Standard license. Paid templates come with the Extended license.
| Feature | Standard | Extended |
|---|---|---|
| Comes with | Free templates | Paid templates |
| Websites | One | Unlimited |
| Your own site or business | Yes | Yes |
| Client work | No | Yes |
Standard license
For one website for yourself: your portfolio, your studio or your own business. You can:
- Build and publish one website with the template.
- Use that site commercially, for your own work or business.
- Change anything: text, images, colors, fonts, layouts and pages.
It doesn’t cover client work or a second website. If you need either, email me before you start.
Extended license
Everything in the Standard license, plus:
- Unlimited websites, for yourself or for clients.
- Client work: build a site for a client and hand the Framer project over to their account. Your client can keep using and editing that site.
Not allowed with any license
- Sharing, reselling or giving away the template or its remix link, changed or unchanged, free or paid.
- Listing the template, or anything made from it, on the Framer Marketplace or any other template store.
- Using it as the base for another template, UI kit or theme that you sell or give away.
- Presenting the template design as your own work.
Images, fonts and your content
You can keep the demo content in your site. The photos and videos in the templates come from stock media platforms, so you’re free to use them; the demo text is there to show the layout, so most people swap it for their own. Fonts come from Framer’s font library or their makers and keep their own licenses. Everything you add to the template is yours.
Framer
Templates are designed and built directly in Framer, so there is no Figma or other design file. A free Framer account is enough to remix and edit one; publishing on a custom domain and removing the Framer badge need a paid Framer plan. Framer’s own terms apply to your account and your site.
If the license is broken
The license lasts as long as you follow it. If you break it, it ends, and sites built with the template have to come down. If an order is refunded or charged back, its license ends.
